Summer in Cyprus

Cyprus

It’s a real highlight for us to get feedback from happy clients so we were really pleased to get this from Lucy and her family just back from Cyprus.

What an absolute delight from start to finish.  Our flights were at a sensible time, and the flight time itself was an hour shorter than scheduled.  On arrival at the Med Beach Hotel in Limassol, we found we had been upgraded from inland view to partial sea view, and prosecco and fruit awaited us in there.  From that moment we were marvelling at every aspect of the holiday – the plentiful, comfortable sun loungers, clean, sandy, uncrowded beach, calm refreshing sea, huge swimming pool, vast array of other activities on site.  The staff were unfailingly polite and helpful, the food was utterly delicious and although buffet-style, served in a restaurant a great deal more luxurious than any I would ever eat in at home.  Waiters offered me complimentary glasses of wine and turned a blind eye to my sandwich making at the breakfast table (half board necessity).  The entertainment was tasteful and actually – yes – entertaining, with a very impressive magic show on the first night and talented musicians playing at dinner.  We didn’t leave the hotel much due to the heat and the fact that swimming in the sea took up most of our time, but we went on a fabulous boat trip around the island, stopping for snorkelling, swimming and canoeing and with a constant supply of free cocktails and live music.  Even on the boat, the staff were outstanding., On the last day we were able to extend our room until it was time to leave the hotel, which we did with heavy hearts and vowing to make sure we did this again.  Thank you Charlie Panton for getting it exactly right.

Cyprus has been really great value for the last couple of years, superb hotels with good rates. With good weather from Easter to October half-term it’s also a good bet for winter sun. Call us if you want to find out more of fancy visiting Cyprus.

Eating our way around Sri Lanka

I always remembered Sri Lankan food fondly, with the seafood and fruit being particular favourites. However, it is safe to say that the food was
